Welcome to South Western Sydney Institute

Moodle is the Learning Management System or Learning Platform within South Western Sydney Institute (SWSI) in which you can communicate, collaborate, complete learning activities, and access resources online in one place 24x7. This approach to study is a part of the Innovation and Technology Based Learning within SWSI. If it is new for you you may want to visit Prepare for e-learning and work through the activities. We also have an online resource to help with using Moodle for students.

To enter this Moodle site requires an authorised log on so you will need an account - it is a self-registering process (follow the links and instructions carefully to "Create new account" in the login area top left).

When you are setting up your moodle account, please make sure you use your first initial and surname (eg JSmith) for your username, an appropriate email (if you have a TAFE email use this account) and type in the the college at which you are studying instead of the city/suburb in which you live. Before setting up your logon account please read the SWSI Moodle Terms of Use. It is assumed on creating an account (registering) that you are agreeing to comply with the Terms of Use.

Teachers who would like a Moodle site need to Apply for a Moodle (NB: for access to this form you must use your network logon south_western\jsmith7) . There is also an online resource to support teachers in their use of Moodle .

Students should talk with their teacher about gaining access to their course and be sure to follow all instructions carefully including those on screen during the process as most difficulties arise by not doing so.
